Cape George Lighthouse
While exploring the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, we decided to pack a picnic lunch (and Miki) and head out for the Cape George Lighthouse.  After all, I had to get my fill of lighthouses while on this trip, as there aren’t any in New Mexico!
Cape George Lighthouse
This is actually the third lighthouse on this location since 1861.  It sits about 360 feet above sea level.  As we looked at this lighthouse, directly behind us once stood the lighthouse keepers home.  It’s no longer standing there, but this is a nice piece of historical information.  In June of 2016, the community of Cape George assumed ownership and responsibility of this lighthouse.  We noticed this occurred in a few lighthouses we visited.
Sailboat at Cape George
When we did turn around, we saw this lovely sight – a sailboat perfectly framed by the bushes growing where the lighthouse keepers’ house once stood.  Our timing was perfect!
Cape George Lighthouse Reflection Bench
I thought this was a perfect spot to reflect on life, but all I really did from my vantage point was reflect on lunch!  What a lovely place to enjoy lunch with my sweetie and Miki!
Enjoy!
